A Manufacturing Engineer will primarily support the activities involved in bringing design programmes into manufacture. This role is pivotal to the planning, launch and smooth delivery of exciting new products or product refresh programmes. Typically Manufacturing Engineers work closely with a range of other engineers, functions and managers both within their own company and supplier base.

Students studying this pathway will learn about machining processes and the types of equipment that are used. They will learn what is meant by CAD/CAM and how it is used in the industry when using computer aided equipment over manual processes.

Mechatronics maintenance technicians install, test, troubleshoot, modify, and maintain complex automated equipment using a blend of skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems disciplines.
