The Engineering and Manufacturing Level 1 has been specifically designed to provide an introduction to a broad base of engineering skills, knowledge and understanding. You will study various topics such as milling, turning, MAG’s welding, technical drawing as well as English and Maths as part of your main programme.

During the 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills for entry to a range of engineering and manufacturing occupations. It is a level 3 qualification studied over a two year programme.

Typically Manufacturing Engineers work closely with a range of other engineers, functions and managers both within their own company and supplier base.

Students studying this pathway will learn about machining processes and the types of equipment that are used. They will learn what is meant by CAD/CAM and how it is used in the industry when using computer aided equipment over manual processes.
