Colchester Institute is the major provider of further education and training for North Essex and adjoining areas. The College also provides a range of higher education (degree level) courses.

At Colchester Institute we aim to provide students of all ages with the knowledge, skills and experience to equip them for life. We work in partnership with employers locally, nationally and internationally to ensure our courses are matched to today's standards and the needs of tomorrow.

Colchester Institute operates from campuses at Sheepen Road, Colchester and The College at Clacton is located in Church Road, Clacton-on-Sea and Thomas Road, Clacton-on-Sea. The Learning Shop @ Dovercourt and The Learning Centre (Colchester) provide additional town centre locations for computer training and learndirect access.

Colchester is a vibrant town in which to live and study. It is a unique blend of ancient and modern with its castle and museums alongside a bustling town centre which offers a variety of restaurants, pubs, cinemas and a multi-million pound leisure complex.

Clacton-on-Sea is a seaside town with a pier, amusements and a lively entertainment and social scene. The main College at Clacton campus is just off the sea front and only five minutes walk from the town centre. The railway station is nearby. The Thomas Road Campus is adjacent to Colbayns High School.
