From keeping us warm at the cinema to keeping blood at the right temperature for lifesaving operations, air conditioning and refrigeration are fundamental to our lives. The course is aimed at students aged 16 or over who wish to complete a level 2 apprenticeship in refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems.
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Level 2 Apprenticeship qualifications are intended for those involved with the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. This will equip learners with skills and knowledge to support a career in this sector. The delivery of learning is done through theory and practical sessions at Colchester institute combined with work based evidence gathered in a portfolio.

Starting employment as an apprentice can occur throughout the year however the start-date for attending college for training, where required, might vary depending on the type of apprenticeship and will be communicated post-employment and sign-up.
