From keeping us warm at the cinema to keeping blood at the right temperature for lifesaving operations, air conditioning and refrigeration are fundamental to our lives. The course is aimed at students aged 16 or over who wish to complete a level 2 apprenticeship in refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems.
The Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Level 2 Apprenticeship qualifications are intended for those involved with the installation, commissioning, servicing and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems. This will equip learners with skills and knowledge to support a career in this sector. The delivery of learning is done through theory and practical sessions at Colchester institute combined with work based evidence gathered in a portfolio.
What are the benefits?
|Start Date||Starting employment as an apprentice can occur throughout the year however the start-date for attending college for training, where required, will be communicated post-employment and sign-up|
|Attendance||1 day per week. Attendance is closely monitored by your tutor and training advisor. Excellent attendance is required in order to achieve the qualification. Personal holidays must not be taken within the college term dates.|

|What will this cost my Business?|
Non-levy paying employers will need to contribute 10% of the maximum funding band as published by the Skills Funding Agency for the delivery of training and assessment for their apprenticeship. Levy paying employers will pay the full cost of the agreed funding band using their Digital Apprenticeship account.
