Cyanotype / Lumen Printing and Camera Obscura

Cyanotype / Lumen Printing and Camera Obscura | The Minories Galleries

We start this workshop in the beautiful  Minories garden. Built by a former Fine Art degree student of Colchester School of Art we will be using the fantastic camera obscura to explore the surroundings of the Minories. With a lightly to digest art theoretical introduction we progress to create some of the most beautiful alternative print outcomes. Cyanotypes and Lumen prints give you a visual experience that cannot be mimicked by digital technology. We guide you through all the processes and have a set of hand-outs for you to take home. At the end of the workshop you will have some nice prints to take home. Please bring printed photographs up to A4 size or digital image files on a flash drive in jpg format. Ideally have a digital camera on hand to shoot in the camera obscura. Pen and paper to take notes.
