Art and Design UAL Diploma Level 2
Your studies will provide you with a basic introduction to drawing, painting, sculpture and various approaches to design. With access to art and design workshops and studios you will learn through experimentation using a broad range of 2D and 3D processes. Projects will help you to gain a contextual understanding of art and design and support you to make and articulate personal connections and interpretations. You will have the opportunity to improve your communication and presentation skills through taking part in group activities and student exhibitions.
The course will enable you to make informed choices with regard to a career in the Creative Arts sector. You will also engage in GEM and GAP activities to develop your English, maths and employability skills to enhance your progression to the next level of education or to employment.
The Art and Design UAL Awarding Body Diploma Level 2 course consists of the following units;
- Materials, Processes and Technical Skills
- Contextual Research
- Drawing Skills
- Communication Skills
- Solving 2D, 3D and time-based Creative Problems
- Developing and Producing a Personal Project
Applying for a Full-Time course

You apply through either our online application system or by completing the full-time application form which can be downloaded here:
Applicants will receive an acknowledgement email or card within one week of the application being received by our Admissions team, if you do not receive this you should contact the team on (01206) 712777 to check that your application has been received.
Our aim is to make it as easy as possible to secure your place on your ideal programme. Simply download and complete the relevant application form and return it to our Admissions team as early as possible. There is well a equipped Careers Centre containing information on careers and courses as well computer guidance software to help students choose and research suitable careers.
The careers guidance service has achieved the national quality award for the provision of Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance known as the Quality in Careers Standard. The service is also accredited by the matrix Quality Standard for information, Advice and Guidance.
