Based on the BBC Two reality show “The Great British Sewing Bee” where amateur sewers compete to be named “Britain’s best home sewer” the Colchester Sewing Bee will encourage you to dust off your sewing machine and start stitching!
The course is taught by Susan Harvey. Sue has taught on dressmaking learning for leisure courses for 6 years. She has a degree in Fashion Design and worked as a designer for 10 years before becoming a lecturer.
Whether you already have some sewing experience or have completed our beginners course, this practical short course will provide you with the skills you need to explore and develop your own style and make the clothes you’ve always wanted. During the course you will learn a wide range of skills and select a project suitable for your experience that will encourage you to build on your existing knowledge. You will receive step-by-step guidance in order to learn the techniques and skills you need to hone your dressmaking skills.
