The UK has a large financial services industry which offer a variety of roles. You’ll need to be good with numbers and have good organisational, business and people skills in these jobs. Apprenticeships and courses in financial services are designed to provide learners with the relevant training and education required to work within a financial advisory services environment.

Considering an apprenticeship? Many people look to an apprenticeship to gain skills directly in the workplace.

Aimed at those who are involved in accounting, mortgage advice and financial services as their primary work activity and have the ability to carry out a range of routine tasks in their role, anyone aged 16 years and older can study an apprenticeship – there are no upper age limits for apprenticeships.  With our apprenticeships you may be required to attend college at our Colchester, Braintree or Clacton campuses or in some cases we will visit you in the workplace for your training assessment.

Career pathways may include progression to senior advisory roles. Possible  further study and course progression opportunities may include higher education or industry specialist qualifications.

Note regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19): Due to the nature of our Online and On Campus apprenticeships, with key concepts being taught online through high-quality video lectures, apprentices are able to continue their studies seamlessly with social distancing in place. Some of the regular ‘On Campus’ lessons can be replaced by remote ‘virtual classroom’ sessions led by college tutors. This flexible approach can be easily adapted to suit government guidance and college policies.

The need for flexibility in apprenticeship delivery has never been more apparent.  This is why we’ve looked for ways that can make it easier to study alongside work and life commitments.

We have worked in partnership with Mindful Education to create a suite of flexible apprenticeships that combine online learning with face-to-face classroom sessions.

This flexible approach means that apprentices can choose how, when and where they want to study.

We want to provide courses that fit with students, rather than the other way around. Because of this, we’ve created a suite of blended learning courses to make learning more flexible.

How do they work?

Combining the benefits of online and classroom-based study

Our Online and On Campus Accounting apprenticeships have been designed with both apprentices and employers in mind –  they require less time in college than more traditional delivery models whilst minimising disruption in the workplace.

Online lessons can be accessed at any time, using a mobile, tablet or desktop – meaning apprentices can fit their study around work commitments, minimising disruption in the workplace.

On campus, apprentices benefit from face-to-face classes at college with an experienced tutor. A combination of classroom-based lessons, group exercises and discussion encourage apprentices to apply theory to real-life workplace situations.

This modern, flexible approach to apprenticeship training empowers learners, minimises disruption to employers, and delivers tangible results in the workplace.

Apprentices will attend college once every two weeks and will study online materials during allotted time at work.
