Introduction to Web Design

This ten week course is an introduction to designing websites. Web design is normally used to describe the design process and encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites which includes web graphic design, interface design, authoring, user experience design and search engine optimization (SEO). Website designers use a variety of different tools depending on what part of the production process they are involved in with skills and techniques including Marketing and Communication design, Page Layout design and Typography.

*This course is not available to learners under 18.

Course Content

Introduction to Web Design will cover

  • basic HTML
  • using a wysiwyg editor
  • planning and creating a website with basic graphics
  • uploading to the Internet

Teaching on the course is delivered through practical, hands-on experience with tutors providing whole group information, as well as individual assistance.
