Advice for Adult Learners

Start this September!

There is still time left to start a course with us which begins this September.

We accept 19+ learners on the majority of our full-time further education programmes however at this late stage of the application cycle spaces are limited and some courses are already full. We are only able to offer late enrolments on full and part-time courses should a space be available and you meet the published entry criteria.

Late Applications are still available for a number of degree-level and higher education programmes through University Centre Colchester at Colchester Institute.

What are my options?

Unfortunately we are not able to offer advice sessions for all of our adult courses. To make things easier we have broken our courses down into the below sections, which show you what options are available and which ones you can book an advice session and speak to a tutor about.

Full-time Further Education Courses

Our Levels 1-3 courses, known as ‘study programmes’, are one or two year duration NVQ, VRQ, and BTEC Diplomas. These are work related vocational qualifications containing a mixture of theory and practical’s.

Your enrolment to a course is subject to an offer being made to you by the course department, your grades meeting the published entry criteria and if spaces are still available on the programme in question.

Adult learners are welcome to book an appointment to an advice session to discuss starting a full-time further education course with us.
