Step by step instructions
Before you start:
- Use the tabs at the top of the page to move between sections: Personal Details, Further Details, Statements, Data Protection, Confirm
- Do not press Refresh or Back, or your changes may be lost.
- Open the enrolment link from your email. If it is not hyperlinked, copy and paste it into your web browser.
Step 1: Log In

You will see the enrolment login screen.
Returning students: Use your Colchester Institute email address.
New students: Use the username provided in your enrolment email.
Forgotten password?: Click “Forgot your password?” and follow the instructions. If you do not receive a password reset email, do not create a new account. Contact Admissions: Tel: 01206 712777

Step 2: Personal Details
Check that the course shown is the correct course for 2026/27.
Complete or check all requested details.
If your:
- name,
- address, or
- date of birth
is incorrect, continue enrolment first and then email: registry@colchester.ac.uk
Step 3: Further Details
Complete all required fields.
Any field marked with an * is mandatory.
“Another learning provider”
Only tick this if you started studying with another provider since June.
Click Continue.
Step 4: Statements (Course fees)
Students aged 16–18:
Your fee statement will usually already be selected.
Simply click Continue.
Students aged 19 or over:
Choose the statement that applies to you. You can only select one option.
Possible statements Include:
- I have an Education Health Care Plan: Select if you are aged 19-24 and have a current Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
- Salary below £25,750 (gross p.a): Select if you earn less than £25,750.00 a year, before tax. You will need to upload proof of income dated within 3 months of your course start date, such as a payslip.
- Accepted payslips must show:
- employer details
- National Insurance number
- gross pay to date.
- Accepted payslips must show:
- I receive Universal Credit: Select if you receive Universal Credit.
- I receive Employment Support Allowance (ESA): Select if you are in receipt of ESA.
- I receive Job Seekers Allowance (JSA): Select if you are in receipt of JSA.
- I receive other state benefit(s): Select if you receive another state benefit, such as an Aspen Card.
- I am unemployed and not on any benefits: Select if you are unemployed and you are not in receipt of any benefits.
- First Full Level 2 (aged 19–23): Five or more GCSE’s at Grade A*-C or 4-9 are equal to a Full Level 2. The college will check your eligibility.
- First Full Level 3 (aged 19–23): 2 A levels or 4 AS Levels are equal to a Full Level 3. The college will check your eligibility.
- I am a CI Staff Member: Select if you work for Colchester Institute. The college will let you know if you are eligible for a staff discount.
- Learner Support (Student Bursary): You must already have applied for support. Student Finance Support Information
If none of the above apply choose a Payment Option:
- My Employer is Paying: You will receive an employer authorisation form by email.
- I am paying in full: Pay online here: Colchester Institute Online Store
- I am paying by Instalments: You will receive instalment details and will need to pay a deposit.
- I am paying by student loan: You must have already applied for a student loan. For Further Education courses from Level 3-6 you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan. For Higher Education courses you can apply for a Loan via Student Finance England.
Fee Reductions
If you selected one of the fee reduction statements above, you will be taken to the Fee Reduction section.
You may need to:
- Confirm your employment or benefit status
- Upload evidence of your income or benefits
- Confirm the skills you are hoping to achieve whilst you are studying the course
- Read the fee reduction terms and conditions statements
If your evidence is not accepted, you may later receive an invoice for course fees.
Step 5: Data Protection
Read:
- Privacy Notice,
- Personal Learning Record Privacy Notice,
- Student Declaration.
Choose any optional consents you agree to. Fields marked with * are mandatory
Step 6: Confirm Enrolment
- Check all your information carefully.
- Use the tabs at the top if you need to make changes.
- When everything is correct, click Confirm.
- You will receive an email confirming your enrolment.
If you didn’t finish enrolment
If you closed the page before confirming:
- Reopen the enrolment link from your email.
- You may see a message saying you are already enrolled.

In the Next Steps section, click Resume enrolment to continue.
