Sports Coaching Level 2

This course is designed to give you qualifications and practical skills directly applicable to the sports industry. The main themes of the course are sports coaching, sports leadership, working with children and fitness instructing.

A variety of learning styles are developed and include formal classroom lessons, group work, presentations, individual tutorials, and practical coaching sessions. All students are encouraged to find voluntary work in the sports industry prior to starting the course. In addition to your main programme, you will also work towards achieving your GCSEs in English and Maths.

Course Content

Level 2 Sports Coaching students can achieve a range of qualifications that include the following –

  • YMCA Level 1 Award in Fitness and Physical Activity
  • 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Physical Activity and Sport within a School environment
  • 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Sport
  • Sports Leaders UK Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership
Entry Requirements
  • 4 GCSEs (9-3) including English and Math, or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent, or satisfactory results (Merit/Distinction) in a relevant Level 1 qualification
  • An interview
