The course builds on two principles – (a) social media is a powerful and efficient promotional tool but (b) it must be managed sensibly. We will cover planning and channel selection, giving delegates simple road maps to setting up and using social accounts.

Today, ‘content is king’, and we will cover blogging basics and strategies for automating social media management.

  • Strategy and objectives – understanding why strategy is important and setting business objectives to ensure precious resources are applied in the most effective areas. Recognising that social media can be a great ‘thief of time’ if not planned carefully.
  • Platforms – where to apply resource for maximum results. Identifying the major business platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+ etc.) and their strengths and weaknesses. Selecting the most appropriate platforms
  • Setting-up – before you start: preparing for set-up. Step-by-step process of setting up accounts on each relevant platform. Branding consistently across all platforms
  • Operations – posting great content. Blogging basics. Identifying relevant topics. Learning strategies for curating, creating and posting content. Understanding the power of visual content and practical tips on using it. Establishing an Environmental Policy. Tactics to attract valuable followers. Understanding and learning how to use key productivity tools including: Hootsuite, Buffer, Buzzsumo, Twello, Google Alerts etc.
  • Summary – reviewing directions in terms of the business ambitions. Summarising the golden rules of social media. List of 10 top resources.
