Introduction to Photoshop for Photographers

Taught in a dedicated Mac suite, this 5 week course introduces you to the working environment of Adobe Photoshop and supports you to learn and creatively explore professional image editing techniques.

Starting off in Adobe Bridge, a digital asset management application software that is part of the Adobe Creative Suite , you will learn how to import and organise your camera files. Sessions will enable you to understand workflow management and introduce you to editing tools and techniques so that you can enhance your photographic images. During the programme learners will also have the opportunity to explore sizing, web publishing, conversions to monochrome, adjustments and basic image manipulation.

*This course is not available to learners under 18.

What do I need to bring?

Have a USB stick available to save your edited work; you may also want to bring your own image files as JPG and/or RAW to work on during the session.

About the Tutor

The course is run by Mike Klencher. Mike has over 10 years’ experience in teaching adult learner classes in photography subjects. In his own practice he works with digital and film cameras, often combining different processes. He exhibited internationally in the UK, Germany, Italy and Namibia. Mike teaches on various degree courses at the School of Art, University Centre Colchester.
