Performing Arts Level 2

The one-year Level 2 in Performing Arts is a fantastic introduction to a range of performing arts and employability skills – all while you improve you gain a valuable Level 2 qualification worth 4 GCSEs. It has been designed with both education and vocation in mind and as such will develop practical skills and understanding of the performing arts for your future career alongside enabling access to higher study.

This course is for those who wish to have a broad introduction to the performing arts. It is for students who enjoy the discipline of group work as well as developing personal skills. Performing Arts students contribute to College life in a variety of ways and take part in performances throughout the year. The course will allow you to build your skills and determine which aspect of the performing arts you wish to study at Level 3.

In addition to your main programme, you will also develop your English, maths and employability skills.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs (9-3) including English, or satisfactory results in a relevant Level 1 qualification (Merit/Distinction), and an interview/audition.

What Can I Do Next?

The entertainment industry is one of the country’s major employers and opportunities for work extend much further than simply performing. A career in the performing arts might focus on education work (teaching), arts administration or management (arts centres or theatre companies). Successful students could progress onto the Diploma in Performing Arts (Acting, Dance, or Musical Theatre).
