How Will I Learn?

The Level 2 Music Performance and Production Diploma course will prepare you for Level 3 study. Delivery is through a combination of practical music making, music production classes, classroom theory, tutorials and assignments.

Our music course tutors are all experienced professional musicians. The emphasis is on practical skills, performance development, music production, musicianship, composition, and research, along with opportunities to participate in a range of musical experiences such as workshops and playing gigs.

In addition to your main programme, you will engage in activities to develop your English, Maths and employability skills.

The course is for one-year to ensure you have ample time to absorb the material and refine your craft. Plus, with units designed to build upon each other cohesively, you’ll progress steadily towards your goals, culminating in a collaborative assignment that showcases your newfound skills and prepares you for further study.

Entry Requirements
  • 4 GCSEs (9-3) including English (or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent), or satisfactory results (Merit/Distinction) in a relevant Level 1 qualification
  • An audition to demonstrate musical ability at Grade 3/4 or equivalent

All applicants will be auditioned and should have sufficient ability to succeed on the course. Candidates will be expected to perform on one instrument (which can include voice) to a competent level of proficiency at equivalent to grade 3/4 Rockschool or ABRSM examinations standard or above.

Course Progression

The Level 2 Music Performance and Production Diploma course will prepare you for progression into Level 3 Music Performance or Music Production.
