Come and join experienced artist and teacher, Jane Frederick for an exciting third spring term of the drawing course which is designed to give you a flavour of the traditional Art School workshop
in a warm and relaxed environment and help you to develop your confidence in drawing from observation.

Based in the beautiful, light art studios in The Minories Art Gallery in Colchester, Jane will introduce you to new drawing and looking skills, this term she will invite you to innovate the traditional study of natural forms and create a contemporary interpretation of the Still Life. Adding the challenge of working on a large scale and helping you to develop innovative mark making techniques, she will show you how to really look and understand what you are drawing as well as encouraging you to be ‘Bold, Loose and Accurate’ with your approach to drawing.

Each gallery drawing experience workshop will involve a stimulating new subject to discuss and draw and together and is suitable for complete beginners up to professional artists who may wish to develop their skills. Allthat is required is curiosity and a willingness to have a go and try something new! All participants will build a portfolio of works so if you are planning on applying for specialist art study in the future, this might be the course for you.
