Deaf Awareness and Basic Sign Language (BSL) Course

Sign language uses hand movements, facial expressions and body language to communicate and is mainly used by the deaf and people who can hear but cannot speak. In addition it is also used by some hearing people, most often families and relatives of the deaf, and interpreters who enable the deaf and wider communities to communicate with each other.

If you have contact with deaf or hard of hearing people and would like to improve your confidence and communication skills, then this course is for you. By learning about deaf awareness and basic sign language an understanding of the barriers deaf people face can be gained, by knowing how to communicate with awareness and basic BSL skills.

This 4 week course is ideal for anyone wishing to develop their sign language skills for either professional use or for personal use.
