Creative and Digital Media Advanced Apprenticeship

This course is for those who are interested in turning their creative and digital talents into a career in the creative media industries. The aim of this Apprenticeship is to develop digitally savvy and work-ready employees who are multi-skilled and can work cross-platform. The Apprenticeship covers roles across the creative and digital media industries, including digital graphics, graphic design, photo imaging, film and TV production, web design and digital marketing.

What will I learn?

Course content is tailored to the nature of the business that the apprentice is employed in. Subjects covered in Diploma Level 3 may include:

  • Copyright, Legal and Ethical Requirements

As part of the Apprenticeship framework you will also study Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and Functional Skills Level 2/GCSEs in English and maths, plus ICT.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of a relevant level 2 or level 3 qualification, or 5 GCSEs (grades A*-C),including English and a creative subject such as art and design.

What Can I Do Next?

Career pathways may include progression in the areas of digital media, TV and radio production, broadcast and research. Higher education opportunities may include a Foundation or Honours Degree.

Starting employment as an apprentice can occur throughout the year however the start-date for attending college for training, where required, might vary depending on the type of apprenticeship and will be communicated post-employment and sign-up.

What will this cost my Business?

Non-levy paying employers will need to contribute 5% of the maximum funding band as published by the Skills Funding Agency for the delivery of training and assessment for their apprenticeship. Levy paying employers will pay the full cost of the agreed funding band using their Digital Apprenticeship account.

Employers with less than 50 employees who are recruiting an apprentice aged 16-18 years old will not be required to pay the contribution fee. Any associated cost to the individual will be made clear at the interview.
