Creative Writing for Beginners at the Minories Galleries

Beginners Creative Writing is an intensive two day course set in the heart of Colchester in the inspirational environment of The Minories Galleries. You will have the opportunity to develop techniques to improve your writing, regardless of experience as well as gaining tools to combat writers block. The only limit is where your imagination can take you!

In an exciting journey of self-discovery, you will get to explore experimenting with a variety of styles and ideas with the view of stimulating new content. We will be reading and discussing short stories and poetry, and through a series of exercises and assignments, building up your own writing skills as well as looking at ways to use language to capture your audience’s attention. You will also network and mix with fellow aspiring writers, poets, songwriters, journalists, script writers, publishers and the course will culminate in an opportunity to share good practice, and receive constructive feedback given from peers which you can act upon.

The course is delivered by David Brown who is currently studying an MA in Song-writing.
