Introduction in Sport Level 1

This course is a practical and theory-based introduction to the sport and active leisure industry. The course will include organisational skills, preparing a personal progression plan, fitness training, playing sport and sport coaching skills.

What Will I Learn?

You will cover a variety of topics that will improve your personal organisation, personal fitness and sporting skills. The course will have a mixture of classroom learning and lots of practical activities outside of the classroom. You will be using gym-based equipment, the sports hall and training pitches as part of your assessments and activities.

Entry Requirements
  • 3 GCSEs (9-1) including English and Math (or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent)
  • An interview
Course Progression

The course prepares you for progression onto either Level 2 Working in Sport or Uniformed Services courses.

The course is suited to those who are interested in future careers within the sports and active leisure industry or the uniformed services.
