The Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who want to support others in relation to mental health. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to support mental wellbeing in voluntary and community activities. During this 1-day course, learners will develop the knowledge and confidence to identify suspected mental health conditions, start supportive conversations, and signpost individuals towards professional help.

Entry Requirements

No pre-requisite knowledge or qualification required to enrol on this course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF). This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.

Assessment

The qualification is assessed through both a practical demonstration of the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and a multiple-choice question paper. A Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. No external assessors are required.
