Careers and Educational Advice and Guidance

A professional Careers and Educational Guidance Service is available to provide information, advice and guidance before, during and after your studies.

Our qualified advisers, offer individual confidential guidance interviews, and a daily drop-in service. We also work together with the academic departments to provide a variety of group sessions on:

  • Career Choice and Self Awareness
  • Careers Decision Making
  • Further Education, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Study
  • Gap Work and Vacation Work in the UK and Overseas
  • Job Search
  • Completing Applications, CVs and Covering Letters
  • Interview Techniques and Presentation Skills

We have a well equipped Careers Reference Library including a comprehensive range of information and computer aided guidance, for all current and prospective students.

We also have a ‘Job Shop’ display area containing information on full-time, parttime and summer work opportunities.

The College subscribes to the Higher Education Careers Service Unit (HECSU), which supports the work of Careers Services in Universities and Colleges in the UK.

HECSU is the major source of specialist publications and up-to-date information on graduate careers and opportunities.

Our service is accredited to the Matrix Quality Standard for Information, Advice and Guidance and also the Recognition of Quality Award (ROQA) for Careers Education, Information Advice and Guidance.
