Photography Courses at The Colchester School of Art

The School of Art offers Further Education courses and Higher Education programmes in Photography. The Minories Gallery in Colchester town centre is home to studios for postgraduate students and a public gallery and our own Hay Gallery provides a versatile exhibition space for displaying students’ work.

Our Higher Education Centre provides a great range of specialist facilities for Colchester School of Art students including well-equipped teaching spaces and private study areas.

As well as part-time evening Photography and Image Capture awards at our Braintree campus, The Colchester School of Art provides an expanded range of popular evening and short courses for beginners and hobbyists. These include courses and workshops in bookbinding, ceramics, glassmaking, life drawing, Photoshop, portfolio preparation, printmaking, pattern cutting and textiles.

I like the use of experimentation and the College provides the equipment for me to do that. I love the dark room facilities and the idea that I can produce my own negatives and images, using my hands and the knowledge that the course has helped me to build.George Fitzgibbon - Photography Level 3
