C&G 2391 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations

This qualification is designed for experienced electricians with sufficient skills, knowledge, and practical experience in inspection and testing, holding the relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications.

It is ideal for qualified electricians wishing to update their knowledge of electrical installation techniques. Level 3 is ideal if you are a qualified electrician and have a great deal of technical skills and knowledge. You work with minimum supervision and have a good record of safety, fault correction and ensuring work meets the required standard. You want to update your knowledge of techniques and legislation.

Course Content
  • The requirements for initial verification of electrical installations and the Requirements for periodic inspection and testing
  • Safety management procedures when undertaking initial verification of electrical installations and periodic inspection and testing
  • Safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations
  • The Requirements for completing the inspection of electrical installations prior to their being placed into service
  • The Requirements for the safe testing and commissioning of electrical installations as well as testing for condition reports
  • The Requirements for the completion of electrical installation certificates and associated documentation
  • The Requirements for the completion of electrical installation condition reports and associated documentation
Course delivery
  • In-centre delivery 5 days
  • In-centre Assessments 1.5 days

Delivery will be made up of theory (including assessment practice questions) and practical demonstrations of inspection & testing (including candidate practice time).

There will be a written assignment & online examination scheduled for the Monday of week two and this will span the entire day.

The practical assessment will typically be held on week two and will take half a day.

Participants must be 18 or over.
