You will achieve an AAT certificate in Bookkeeping and a Colchester Institute certificate in Computerised Accounting and basics of Costing.

What will I learn?

The Bookkeeping Certificate Level 2 course will cover:

Understand the basic accounting equation and double entry bookkeeping.
How to enter accounting transactions, perform reconciliations, correct errors and generate a range of accounting reports.
Units include:

  • Bookkeeping Transactions (AAT)
  • Bookkeeping Controls (AAT)
  • Using Accounting Software (Colchester Institute)
  • Basic Costing (Colchester Institute) to help you progress to level 3

How will I be assessed?

You will complete two external computerised exams.

What award will I achieve?

On successful completion, you will get AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping and a Colchester Institute certificate for Computerised Accounting (SAGE)

Entry Requirements

This course is for learners aged 19 and over.

Confidence with numbers and English comprehension to level 2 standard. Good problem solving skills and good attention to detail are useful strengths in this area.

Applicants should visit the AAT website and undertake the skills check to ensure that they start at the correct level

What Can I Do Next?

You can progress onto the AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting part-time or an Apprenticeship in Accounting.
