Air Source Heat Pump Training

The BPEC Heat Pump Technology and Domestic Air Source Heat Pump course is designed to give installers the skills and knowledge required to correctly install, commission and maintain air source heat pumps.

Training and assessment is held in our newly opened Net Zero and Renewables Centre where you will have the opportunity to work on the latest technology on real-world working systems.

Assessments normally consist of a combination of practical and theory examinations.

This course is recognised as a demonstration of competence for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Pre-requisites

Applicants should have as a minimum:

  • N/SVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing; Heating and Ventilating; Oil-Fired Technical Services; Gas Installation and Maintenance; or equivalent earlier certification; or
  • Heating installers with minimum 3 years of experience installing wet central heating systems, evidenced either by manufacturer courses certification or Gas Safe Register, OFTEC, MCS or HETAS registration

AND if not included in the above qualification

  • Water Regulations/Water Byelaws
Expiry Information

Certificates are normally valid for 5 years.

Training Materials

All training materials will be provided as part of the course, including the BPEC Heat Pump training manual.

Normally, the training manual will be sent to you prior to attending the course. This allows you to pre-study in your own time and at your own pace. It is important that you study the content of the manual prior to attending the course to ensure that you are properly prepared and can participate in discussions during the course.
