The Balkerne Restaurant offers a selection of English and International cuisine and wines. For those that want to experience the ultimate in fine dining why not try our Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Bookings for this restaurant are recommended.

Monday to Friday Lunch
12.00 noon - 12.45pm

Tuesday to Thursday Dinner
7.00pm - 7.45pm

Last order for lunch at 1.00pm, for dinner at 8.15pm.  Restaurant closes at 2.30pm and 10.30pm respectively.

3 courses inc. coffee ~ £11.00 per person

Tuesday Evening
3 courses inc. coffee ~ £17.00 per person

Wednesday and Thursday Evening
(Fine Dining)
3 courses inc. coffee ~ £20.50 per person

Group/Private Bookings
If you require exclusive use of the Balkerne Restaurant, please contact the Restaurant Manager to arrange. A maximum of 45 guests can be accepted in the restaurant. A surcharge will apply for parties with less than 45 guests.

Deposits
Bookings of 6 or more guests in the Balkerne Restaurant require a deposit of £5.00 per person, to guarantee the reservation. Deposits can be paid by cash, cheque or credit/debit card at CH&FS Reception. Alternatively, you can send a cheque, made payable to Colchester Institute, to the Balkerne Restaurant, Colchester Institute, Sheepen Road, Colchester, Essex, CO3 3LL. In the event of a full or part cancellation, the deposit of £5.00 per person is non-refundable.

Dietary Requirements
Vegetarian alternatives are included in our menus. 
With prior notice, we will endeavour to produce dishes for other dietary requests.
