What are your day-to-day duties at work?
General workshop duties like sweeping up. Servicing - oil and filter changes, brakes, lights, tyres.

How has the Apprenticeship helped with your job role?
In your place of work you don't learn everything you need to know, so at College you cover all areas - we're a diesel specialist so we mainly cover diesel engines. The Key Skills training helps with I.T. skills - we use a lot of computers at work.

What are your ambitions for the future?
I want to be a fully qualified mechanic and own my own garage. I'm hoping to progress to an Advanced Apprenticeship.

What did you do before the Apprenticeship scheme?
I worked in an engineering company, building industrial ducts for vans. I prefer doing more practical, hands on work.
