Linda Goldie is programme Leader, BA (Hons) Health and Social Care. Prior to working in Education at Colchester Institute she worked as a social worker in child protection and psychiatric services for children in Scotland, then Southern Ireland and finally in London.
All of Linda’s varied teaching career has been at Colchester Institute, firstly teaching on the Preliminary Certificate in Social Care to 16-18 year olds, then moving into Higher Education with the Supported Open Learning Foundation Degrees in Health and Social Care to her present programmes namely the BA(Hons) Health and Social Care.
Her main subject interest is child and family work. Linda’s MA dissertation focussed on domestic violence – the impact on the physical and mental health of women.
Charlie Fouracres is the course leader for the BA (Hons) Early Years. Charlie has completed all her qualifications at UCC, benefiting from the personalised learning experience as a mature student after a break from Education to raise a family.
Charlie's background is in Early Years Education, having worked in Nurseries, Primary Schools, Sure Start Centres and supporting roles with the NHS in the community. Previous to her current teaching role, she ran a successful childcare provision before returning to her teaching roots here at University Centre Colchester
She is currently completing her MA in Education which focuses on the connection between student feedback and improving the quality of educational provision for students.
