Chris Mills studied BA (Hons) Sport & Leisure Management at Staffordshire University and holds a PG Certificate in Business Administration. He has worked in Higher Education since 2007 and has an extensive understanding of undergraduate student experience, student support and quality assurance sector regulatory requirements. Senior Academic Services Officer
Tracy Blair has extensive experience in business administration and has worked in UCC Academic Services since its inception in 2005. Tracy is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the office, line managing all UCC Administrators and Academic Service Officers. Tracy may be contacted regarding any query a current student has whilst on programme including but not limited to, extenuating circumstances and bursary queries. Diane Whant has extensive administration and management experience working within industry and the education sector. She returned to University Centre Colchester in May 2015. Ailsa Clarke studied BA (Hons) Fine Art at Bath Spa University and MA Art, Design and the Book at University Centre Colchester. She has worked in Arts and Heritage sector before joining University Centre Colchester in 2013. Ailsa is the UCC Academic Services Administrator for the School of Art and School of Music, Media and Performing Arts. In her spare time she works on her own surface pattern designs and illustration. Sarah Duffield studied History and Sociology at the University of Hull and then worked for many years as a primary school teacher. After studying Business Administration, Sarah joined University Centre Colchester in 2016. Sarah provides academic support for the School of Social Sciences where she uses her education background to support all students, especially those undertaking a PGCE. UCC Careers Advisor
Susan Bailey holds a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Social Policy from the University of Essex, a post graduate Diploma in Career Guidance from the University of East London and a PTTLS qualification for teaching in the post-16 sector from the Colchester Institute. Susan was a youth worker before graduating when she trained and became a Careers Adviser. Susan has worked extensively in the education sector working in schools, further education colleges and universities. Susan joined University Centre Colchester as a careers advisor in 2006 and co-ordinates the career and employability service that supports students to be aspirational and to succeed as employable graduates. Academic Services Officer
Natasha Sayers studied BSc (Hons) Textiles and Apparel at De Montfort University. She has been working at Colchester Institute/University Centre Colchester since December 1999, when she joined as a temporary member of staff. Natasha is an Academic Services Officer, which includes the administration of appeals, exam boards, degree certification and assessment instruments amongst other quality and academic standards processes. UCC Student Experience Officer
Helen Shaw studied BA (Hons) Media and Cultural Studies at Lancaster University. She holds an NVQ level 4 in Information, Advice & Guidance and a Certificate in Education & Training from University of Central Lancashire. She joined University Centre Colchester in February 2020 as the Student Experience Officer, responsible for the UCC admissions process and the engagement of students to enhance the UCC student experience. UCC Accessibility Officer
Gemma Rogers has extensive administration experience and has been with Colchester Institute since 2014 where she started as a member of the Registry Department. She went on to become the Senior Registry team member for Higher Education enrolments, student loan administration, and collaborating on government funding returns. In 2019 Gemma moved to the Colchester Institute Finance department before taking the position of UCC Accessibility Officer in August 2022.
Gemma is responsible for supporting all University Centre Colchester students who have disclosed either a Specific Learning Difficulty or Medical Condition in accessing support they may be entitled to either as Reasonable Adjustments or as support from the Disabled Students Allowance (DSA).
