Wendy Meadows

Wendy is a lecturer for the Undergraduate Early Childhood Studies programmes. Wendy’s career in education began as a teaching assistant but she was inspired to study for a degree in Early Years at Colchester Institute and then complete a PGCE to become a primary school teacher.

Wendy has worked across the Key Stages in Colchester and then worked for 5 years in an International School in Cyprus, working with a range of nationalities and cultures.

Wendy teaches modules such as Understanding and Supporting Special Education Needs and Disabilities, Professional Practice, Enabling Environments, and Child Development.

Wendy is interested in teaching creativity, the importance of play and using the outdoor environment, especially in STEAM subjects across Early Years and primary education.
