The sport and leisure industry continues to grow in importance nationally and globally, supporting over 450,000 jobs in the UK and is one of the fastest growing sectors. Our courses are delivered by highly qualified tutors with a wealth of experience in the private and public sectors. There are excellent facilities including well-equipped fitness suites and a large multi-purpose hall.
Higher Education programmes are designed to provide vocationally specific content and practical hands-on activities that replicate the working environment within these industries. The learning experience is further enhanced by guest speakers and visits abroad. HNC and degrees can be studied either full-time or part-time, allowing for the opportunity to work part-time. Our Higher Education Centre provides a great range of facilities including well-equipped teaching spaces and private study areas.
Further Education programmes in sport, coaching and fitness enable students to develop the relevant employability skills for their chosen career. Apprenticeships and part-time courses are available in the areas of Sports Development, Activity Leadership, Gym Instruction and Physical Education in Schools.
With our FdA Management of Sport programme you will acquire industry-specific knowledge, together with the academic, analytical and decision making skills to succeed in a management role in a variety of leisure industries.
Our BA (Hons) programme combines practical experience with academic study to help equip you with a broad understanding of the commercial and managerial aspects of the sector. Our close links with the local and regional sports industry enable you to develop your management and leadership skills and apply them to a variety of settings.
As part of our partnership with Virtual Learning UK, you have access to industry-leading facilities at the Lee Westwood Golf School, based at Stoke-by-Nayland Golf Club.
