The City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Working at Height: Tower Rescue programme focuses on up to date safety critical activity on a purpose built 16m (52ft) training tower, ensuring delegates are suitably prepared for, and remain safe in, this high risk environment. The Award for Working at Height: Tower Rescue is specifically for personnel that may need to rescue others from structures e.g. telecommunication towers and radio masts.

This City & Guilds Level 2 qualification demonstrates learners have achieved the minimum industry standards and can work competently with the latest equipment and techniques.

Course Content

Course Content

·         Know how to inspect and fit fall protection equipment
·         Know how to carry out pre-use of tower rescue equipment
·         Carry out scene assessment and establish communication
·         Demonstrate safe climbing techniques to effect rescue
·         Undertake a tower rescue
·         Manage the casualty on the ground
·         Know the procedures to follow after a rescue has taken place

Training Method

Combination of classroom based theory and practical climbing activities on a 16m tower.
