This course is designed to introduce beginners or intermediates to using Photoshop creatively to manipulate and enhance digital imagery. Through practical projects, you will explore basic and more advanced editing techniques. Typically, topics covered may include: adjustments to image size, colour hue and saturation, image selection, creating layers for montage and manipulation, altering images through levels and sharpening.
Digital photography, colour printing, scanning and the optimisation of images for emailing and web publishing will also be covered. Alongside practical experimentation, we will study the work of various visual arts practitioners who use traditional and digital media to stimulate ideas and inform their own creative practice.
The class is run in a fully equipped MAC studio where each of the participants will have independent access to a MAC computer where appropriate.
