Introduction to Carbon Literacy

This short half day course has been designed to give an introduction to Carbon Literacy. Carbon Literacy means understanding how our day to day activities generate carbon, the climate and environmental impacts of carbon emissions, and the choices we can make to reduce carbon emissions. The course will help delegates understand how they can measure their carbon footprint and reduce this, and begin to action plan how they could translate this into the businesses they work at and the organisations they are a part of.

  • What is Carbon Literacy?
  • How do we measure our own Carbon footprint?
  • Transport – choices and consequences
  • Food and nutrition –
  • Our future energy needs – options and consumer costs
  • Digital World – opportunities and hidden carbon costs
  • Turning thinking into action – what can you pledge to change in your personal and business life?

The course will be based on a range of accessible and lively interactive content, with an emphasis on opportunities for delegate participation, individually and in groups.
