Fitness Instructing Level 2

The Level 2 Fitness Instructing programme will teach you how to screen clients, provide gym inductions, design basic training programs, and develop an understanding of how the body responds to exercise.

The Level 2 Fitness Instructing programme will cover topics including:

  • Anatomy and physiology for exercise and fitness instructors
  • Providing a positive customer experience in the exercise environment
  • Lifestyle management and health awareness
  • Gym based programme planning and preparation
  • Gym based  programme delivery and professional instruction
Entry Requirements

4 GCSE’s (grade A* – E) including English (grades 9-3), or satisfactory results in a relevant Level 1 qualification (Merit/Distinction), evidence of activity engagement in sport or fitness and an interview.

What Can I Do Next?

Learners can progress onto a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.

Successful completion of this course will give 20 credits towards the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs)

Entry onto the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) can lead to jobs as Gym Instructors or Aerobics teachers. Once qualified, many Level 2 qualifications offer routes into teaching different disciplines such as studio cycling, step and circuits.
