Engineering – Welding and Fabrication Level 1

The Engineering – Level 1 Welding and Fabrication Foundation Certificate has been specifically designed to provide an introduction to a broad base of engineering skills, knowledge and understanding. You will study engineering manufacture, maintenance, CAD and English and Maths as part of your main programme.

What Will I Learn?

This programme has been specifically designed to provide an introduction to a broad base of fabrication and welding skills and principles to allow you to progress to a higher level study at Level 2. You will experience a range of different engineering principles and learn from ex industry experts through lectures, practical activities, group and personal tutorials. You will also engage in GEM and GAP activities to develop your English, Maths and employability skills.

Entry Requirements

3 GCSEs (grades A*-G/9-1), including English and Maths, and an interview.

What Can I Do Next?

Progression to Further education and training on the Engineering Technical Certificate Level 2, or Welding and Fabrication Practice courses. Successful students will be able to progress to employment whilst continuing their study via the day release programme or apply for an Apprenticeship.
