Directors Duties and Responsibilities

The Directors Duties and Responsibilities workshop enables persons who are, or intend to be a Director of a Company to develop a valuable insight into how company law principles and associated legislation operate in civil and criminal law. With new regulations that became effective from 1 January 2016, there was an introduction of a wide range of amendments to the Companies Act 2006, particularly in relation to the small companies regime.

Course Content

Directors Duties and Responsibilities Course Content

  • Introduction to Company Law
  • The new Companies Act 2006 (where appropriate)
  • Classification of Directors
  • Directors’ duties, liabilities and responsibilities
  • Other issues relating to Directors e.g. the effects of the law surrounding wrongful and fraudulent trading including the implications of the Fraud Act, 2006
  • Limited Liability Partnerships compared with other partnership status’

Training method:

Seminar and the use of short assignments during the course to resolve practical Company Director dilemmas.

Course outcome/qualification:

Certificate of Attendance.
