Construction and the Built Environment Level 3 (Part-time)

The Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment is designed for people working in or planning to work in the sector of professional and technical construction.

This qualification is aimed at those entering into Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Site management, Surveying, Planning, Civil Engineering or Building Services and aligned professional construction jobs:

  • Providing opportunities for learners to achieve a nationally¬≠ recognised level 3 vocationally-specific construction, civil engineering or building services qualification.
  • Providing opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in work.
  • Providing education, training and the application of knowledge in technical areas that are directly relevant to the industry.

Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment may include:

  • Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Sustainable Construction
  • Mathematics in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Science and Materials in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Construction Technology and Design in Construction and Civil Engineering
  • Building Technology in Construction
  • Project Management in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Graphical Detailing in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Measuring, Estimating and Tendering Processes in Construction and the Built Environment
  • Surveying in Construction and Civil Engineering
  • Computer-Aided Drafting and Design for Construction
  • Conversion and Adaptation of Buildings
  • Civil Engineering Construction
  • Principals and Applications of Management Techniques in the Construction Industry

All units are assessed via assignments, that include professional reports, presentations and practical observation

Entry Requirements

5 GCSE’s at A* – C (9-4) or above. Mature students will be considered on an individual basis if they do not meet the entry requirements.

Course Progression

Successful completion will allow opportunities to progress into Higher Education including Higher National Qualifications and degree programmes.

 

Career Opportunities

Professional career roles such as Surveyor, Estimator, Structural Engineer or Site Managers.

To apply to study on this part-time course you will need to complete and return the part-time application form in the next menu.

Most part-time courses will start in September, however they can start at various points during the year, and some part-time courses will run more than once per academic year.

Applicants will receive an acknowledgement email or card within one week of the application being received by our Admissions team, if you do not receive this you should contact the team to check that your application has been received. Courses will run subject to sufficient applications being received.
