Computer Aided Design (CAD) – 3D Modelling for Beginners

Autodesk Inventor for New Users – Engineering and Manufacturing

The Autodesk Inventor for New Users is a 2-day training course that will equip participants with the introductory understanding that is necessary to use the Autodesk Inventor software for the purpose of 2D sketching and 3D parametric modelling.

Course Aims

Computer Aided Design (CAD) – 3D Modelling for Beginners – What will I learn?

The goal is to teach users to capture what is referred to as design intent, and to apply appropriate techniques and workflows to:

  • An introduction into constructing and constraining 2D geometry
  • Generating 3D parametric modelled parts
  • Exploring part modelling fundamentals and display manipulation
  • Developing 3D work features

You will be provided with a solid foundation in the principles of CAD 3D modelling. You will then be able to build upon these at a later date at intermediate and advanced level. In 2018 we will be offering successful candidates an intermediate course.

Suitability - Who should attend?

The Autodesk Inventor for New Users – course is designed for new Autodesk Inventor users and does not require any previous CAD experience.

Pre-requisite Knowledge/Qualifications.

Drafting, design, or mechanical engineering experience is beneficial but not essential, as is a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows XP or newer.
