AM2S is the version of AM2 sat by all electrotechnical apprentices undertaking the Installation Electrician apprenticeship standard.
Apprentices who are enrolled onto the Apprenticeship Framework, or those on the Level 3 NVQ or the JIB Mature Candidate Assessment should undertake the AM2 assessment.
This Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) J.I.B. Qualification endorses the City & Guilds 5357 Level 3 qualification. The JIB sets the standards for employment, welfare, grading and apprentice training in the electrical contracting industry.
The AM2 and AM2S is the final unit of the electrical installation qualification, and has provided the means of independently assessing the occupational competence of electrical installation apprentices for more than 30 years. The AM2 or AM2S is compulsory for apprentices, adult trainees or upskilling workers who seek to gain industry recognised qualified status; raising overall safety and skill levels and ensuring that candidates from various routes have the skills employers need.
This two and a half day course is aimed at Installation electricians or apprentices wishing to achieve the NVQ in electrical installations. Colchester Institute is an accredited AM2 (Acheivement Measurement) Centre.
Candidates will either hold an NVQ 2360 Part B, an NVQ 2365 Level 3 or be working towards an NVQ 2357/5357 Level 3 qualification.
