In these difficult times we are doing all we can to monitor and implement Government advice and keep all our staff and students safe and well.
In line with current Government guidance, the College campuses are open now, but from Monday 23rd March 2020 we will move to online delivery for all students, until the start of the Easter holidays on Friday 3rd April. This means that all students will be asked to study and learn at home remotely.
So that teaching staff can prepare all the materials for this online delivery, Wednesday 18th March 2020 will be the last day of normal timetabled sessions until after the Easter holidays. Students will not need to come in for classes on Thursday 19th and / or Friday 20th March, but you can come in to help prepare for this period of remote on-line learning, for example to borrow library books, pick up college work or any personal items etc.
From Monday 23rd March 2020 you will find that your tutors send out learning activities to you via your college email address. To keep in touch with all developments all students should:
- Check your college email – do this by visiting https://mail.colchester.ac.uk
- Check the college website (www.colchester.ac.uk) every day for updates, including how to access work set for you
- If required by your teacher, check Moodle – do this by visiting http://moodle.colchester.ac.uk
In some cases where there are exams planned between now and the Easter break we will make arrangements with you for these to still take place. If this applies to you your tutor will email you to confirm the arrangements, so it is very important that you monitor your college email at least once every day.
Financial arrangements will be in place to support those in need of Free School Meals, and we will contact this group of students separately.
