We are proud to introduce our first successful cohort of Building Heroes at Colchester Institute. Undertaking our Property Maintenance course, all eight graduated in front of thrilled staff and the Building Heroes team, led by the founder and Chief Executive, Brendan Williams. Brendan spoke of the importance of Building Heroes and the partnership with Colchester Institute to provide training to those coming out of the Military.
Each of the graduates were presented with a certificate and a generous gift from our local builders and decorators merchant Kent Blaxill. They provided in-store credit towards their first tool kit alongside a full set of safety wear for their transition into work to the delighted cohort.
Duncan on behalf of all graduates thanked everyone involved in the project and said it had been excellent and the tutors had gone above and beyond in every way.
At their Graduation Ceremony, Brendan Williams personally thanked the Heroes for their part in the continued success of the charity. Kent Blaxill were in attendance to provide a gift bag alongside the Heroes’ certificates, which contained a hard hat, ear defenders, gas mask and a hi-visibility vest. In addition to this the Heroes were also given an Advantage Card to use on their first materials from any Kent Blaxill store.
The atmosphere was buoyant and reflected the positivity and comradery of the group throughout the course. We wish them the best of luck and hope they take what they’ve learnt into the future.
