You will learn many skills, from how to fabricate a wide range of agricultural and industrial bagging and weighing equipment from single man potatoes bagging machines, to conveyors and systems for some of the world's largest Blue-Chip Companies.

What you will do in your working day
Day to day role responsibilities will include:
- Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout of metal components.
- Measure, cut and shape metal pieces using power tools and hand tools.
- Weld metal components together using MIG/TIG welding techniques.
- Fabricate and assemble metal structures according to specifications.
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environement.
The training you will be getting
- The apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard
- This apprenticeship will also include Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
- College attendance will be at the Colchester Institute - Colchester Campus one day per week during term time
