In Cahoots was formed in 1982 by selftaught musician Phil Miller and has since been a vehicle for Phil’s compositions through its various and interchanging lineups. The music quickly began to take shape through countless improvisations and arrangements of old compositions and soon enough the band was appearing on BBC Radio 3 (Jazz Today) and embarking on extensive European tours, resulting in the album ‘In Cahoots: Live 86-89’. During this time the band also worked on a number of Phil’s compositions with Dave Stewart & Barbra Gaskin, who had recently topped the UK singles chart. The band’s latest recording, ‘Conspiracy Theories’, was completed in 2006 and features one of the largest and most versatile In Cahoots lineups to date.
