The Gallimaufry
Ensemble
Wind Quintet ![]()

The Gallimaufry Ensemble was formed in 2000 at the Royal Academy of Music and was subsequently awarded the prestigious Leverhulme Chamber Music Fellowship. One of the most exciting and dynamic young groups in the UK, Gallimaufry brings freshness to the music through the energy and vitality of its interpretation; whether a classic of the repertoire, a new commission or arrangement, Gallimaufry at once tempts and satisfies. The Ensemble has performed at major venues such as the Purcell Room, Almeida Theatre, National Portrait Gallery, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Hackney Empire and Lincolnshire International Music Festival. Tours have taken Gallimaufry to Ireland, Italy, Greece and France, including performances at the renowned "Classique au Vert" Festival in Paris. The ensemble has commissioned and premièred numerous new works and has worked closely with numerous composers, including Pierre Boulez.
