Choral Concert and Showcase

A fitting close to the 2009-2010 Concert Series, this event will feature full choral performances and individual student performances.
The programme will include Hiawatha’s Wedding-Feast (Op.30) - Longfellow’s powerful invocation of Native American Indian life is an epic narrative poem set to delightfully approachable, colourful and atmospheric music composed in 1898 by the 23 year old Black English composer Samuel Coleridge Taylor only months after he had finished studying at the Royal College of Music.
