Additional Learning Support
If you have any kind of learning difficulty or disability, Colchester Institute has specialist staff to give you the support you need to complete your course successfully. The department is situated on the first floor of Eastgate Annexe and you can make an appointment to see us in T106. We have specialists in literacy, numeracy and dyslexia and learning support tutors to help you with your study and to work with you and your tutors to get support in exams. We provide Learning Support Assistants in many classes across college to support literacy and numeracy, or for access for people with disabilities. We also have our own Communicators, notetakers and tutors of the deaf for hearing impaired learners. If you are coming to do a degree we have staff who can support you with applying for Disabled Student's Allowance as well as a Study Skills tutor. If you have a physical or medical condition we can develop a Learner Support Plan to ensure you remain healthy and safe in college.
