The Library
The libraries have over 100,000 items including books, videos, slides, audio cassettes, records, CDs, music scores and computer software. In addition, there are about 500 current journal titles available, access to the Internet and reference materials to help with assignment work. The interlibrary loan service ensures you can have access to a wide range of publications from libraries elsewhere.
All libraries have audio-visual, computer and photocopying facilities and the Colchester Campus has a listening area which is equipped with audio equipment and electronic keyboards for music students. Services are computerised and OPACS are available to check what materials are in stock. The Colchester library is open day and evening during term time and on Saturday mornings. It is open during office hours in the holidays. At The College at Braintree the library is open daily and on three evenings during term time. The College at Clacton, Church Road Campus Student Centre is open daily throughout the year. There is a team of Learning Resources Advisers with subject responsibilities who will introduce you to the library services and help with your requirements as courses progress. You are encouraged to seek help from the Learning Resources staff.
