Public Meetings
The Board of Governors holds an annual public meeting where stakeholders and any one else who has an interest in the College are invited.
The meeting provides an opportunity for the Chairman to present a review of the College's main achievements over the previous year. It illustrates how the Board has exercised its responsibilities to the community it serves and indicates the principal developments likely to take place during the next year. A summary of the Annual Report and Accounts for Colchester Institute is presented at the Public Meeting.
Committees
The Board has established six committees whose functions are to:
- develop the policies and strategies of the main Board
- advise the Board on areas of the College's work within its remit
- carry out detailed monitoring on the Board's behalf.
On some matters the Board has delegated specific responsibility to a committee to take action. Each committee, except the Senior Staff Remuneration Committee, makes an annual report to the Board.
